How do you feel about the San Jose Sharks losing their game Sunday night and getting knocked out of the playoffs? (Asked at the Almaden Branch Library and Community Center)

“I was a little disappointed. I have to say I feel bad for them because they never get past the second or third set of playoffs. They don’t do enough shooting, that’s a common frailty.”

Jeremy Sherr, 25

“I feel bad about what happened. I think they need to figure out a way to match Dallas. I think they are trying to overwork them and they need to figure out how to score more goals. In order to win the Stanley Cup, they need to have some guys that are willing to do whatever it takes to get there.”

Adam Domingue, 11

“I’m a little disappointed in the Sharks. They need to score more goals. I just want them to win, I have don’t know what specifics are needed. They went through four overtimes and three periods and only got one goal; they need to score more."

“I’m happy they went down putting in a good fight. They absolutely need to learn how to pass to win the Stanley Cup.”

“I feel bad. They just need to play harder and win the first game to get confidence to win the next games.”

Joseph Williams, 20

“I’m disappointed. I felt like they should have stepped up their game more. I think they need to be a little more aggressive and hit a little harder. Maybe a new coach might help.”

Carsten King, 19

“I’m deeply saddened. I was very upset last night; there was even a tear or two. I think the Sharks need to attack more on the power plays.”

Stephen Applegate, 22
Almaden

“My reaction is unprintable. They deserve to win, next year they will win. I think the team needs to go after one of the big guys. They need to spend money like the Yankees.”

Steve Carauddo

“I was very disappointed they lost because it’s a lot of fun to watch them. They are very exciting. Over the season they were a bit inconsistent. They have a great record, but at times they didn’t do very well. They had an amazing last few games that were very exciting.”

Laurie Flesher, 40ish

“I sat up and watched that game all night. I was saddened by the loss and my grandson couldn’t believe it. I don’t see how they could try any harder. They just need to keep up their perseverance and keep working as hard as they can.”
